 "Surfaces of Nature"...a rebirth of my creativity as an"Artist".

The inception of "Surfaces of Nature" was only a seed of creative thought, "Manifested," several years ago while regaining my posture of "Self-Esteem" and it was my love of gardening that set this change into reality.  An extreme time of personal and financial loss that moved my "Spirit" back towards who I really was meant to be in this world...an "ARTIST"

The Passion of "Surfaces of Nature"

"S of N" came from my love for the Environment..influenced by three Great Aunts and my Great Grandmother who were expert Gardeners. I was always amazed at their expertise to grow vegetable and flower gardens starting from the Spring until October Harvest time.  Bushes and trees were a plethora of different shapes and fragrances.  Even the soil was extraordinarily a dark rich color filled with minerals and organic mulch that they prepared.  Surrounded each day by Nature's Wonders, I grew to appreciate the importance of maintaining the Environment...

The Environment is US and We are the Environment

 My living spaces have always reflected a type of garden visual...inside and out. 

  Visually unstructured but balanced in colors, textures, lighting, sounds of "Jazz" and "Classical" music filtering through the air, and the comfortable warmth of a lived-in atmosphere where walls are covered with collections of family and friends' photos, beautiful floral/plant arrangements, shelves of books covering from Metaphysics to mind twisting thrillers, and a diverse gallery of artwork in each room.  A space of living initiating a peaceful mood that can lull you to sleep just by sitting on a couch filled with plush pillows made of luxurious tapestry fabrics - surrounded by the aroma of cinnamon or Asian spice incense and flickering lights from scented candles.  A home that takes you far away from the usual conventional-cold architectures dictated by our society’s propensities to overshadow an individual's right to be creatively different within their own perimeters of living.

 

The elements that I have created into pieces of art come from a myriad of "Nature's" natural works of art, opulent pieces of jewelry, various fabric textures woven into intricate baroque colorful prints or delicate laces, leather/suede skins, metal hardware, shellacked wood, candles, and artificial flowers/plants.

 

"Surfaces of Nature" is a culmination of home decor, special card messages, and fashion styling for jewelry/clothing.  It's living life in full appreciation of being an individual of "Free Spirit Expressionism".
